Perrier's Sustainable Transport

Nestlé Waters has launched a new train line connecting the Perrier factory at Vergèze (South of France) to the port of Fos-sur-Mer, near Marseille. The initiative is part of our sustainability strategy and the French government’s low carbon policy. The 100-kilometer train line is expected to reduce the Perrier’s greenhouse gas emissions by around 2500 tons of CO2 annually. The daily train of 54 containers will transport about 13,500 containers of Perrier per year.
The project highlights the comprehensive transformation of the Perrier site (Perrier Cap 2020), which includes new bottling lines and warehouse, as a result of a 200 million euro investment. Perrier’s new rail transport is part of Nestlé Waters’ strong commitment to developing responsible environmental practices with local communities, and highlights the rising popularity of the brand.
